A bowling tournament organized by 30 up-and-comers affiliated with Cushman & Wakefield Inc. in the Bay Area has raised $35,000 to benefit Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco.
The event, which featured 24 teams of six people each all drawn from the commercial real estate industry, was the sixth annual fundraiser spearheaded by C&W’s Future Leaders to benefit the housing nonprofit.

“That puts this on par with some of our top corporate donors like Citi, Coldwell Banker, Bank of America and a little behind Wells Fargo and PG&E, who have been our largest corporate sponsors,” Phillip Kilbridge, executive director for Habitat in San Francisco, wrote in an email message.
Jon Dishotsky, an associate director for Cushman, leads the Future Leaders organization in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationally. The group is made up of brokers and professionals from across C&W’s product lines who have seven years or less of experience. Other Cushman volunteers were Mary Davis, Teale Ridley-Art, Jennifer Pelino, Lauren Vetras and Diane Piva.
The fundraiser was started by Matt Shewey, a Cushman senior director who sits on the Habitat board.
“We had 200-plus people there. We really pushed on social media to drive attendance and also allowed people who are in the industry but not on teams to come and hang out,” Dishotsky said.
The event was held Nov. 17 at the Presidio of San Francisco Bowling Alley. Competitors included teams from The CAC Group brokerage, Gensler architects, DivcoWest Real Estate Investments, Cassidy Turley Commercial Real Estate Services and Grubb & Ellis Co.
Tishman Speyer and Cushman & Wakefield were the largest sponsors. Other sponsors included MetLife, Divco, GCI General Contractors, Novo Construction, Paramount Group Inc. and Post Montgomery Center.
